Hi, I’m Omari, a filmmaker based in Atlanta, GA.
I’ve been drawn to storytelling for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s getting lost in a book or feeling the sweet sounds of a good melody, I have always been captivated by the way stories can make you feel something. But what I love most is how all these elements—words, visuals, sound—come together to create something bigger than themselves. That’s the magic of cinema.
My journey started back in high school in 2015 when I joined the AVTF (Audio Video Technology and Film) program. I worked on everything from hard news to sports coverage. But the moment that changed everything was when I was tasked with making a short film for the Atlanta Film Festival. I didn’t win but that project gave me the push I needed. From that point on, I knew filmmaking was what I wanted to do, and I went all in—eventually earning a certification in Film & TV Production.

After high school, I decided to take my studies to Georgia State University in Film & Media. It wasn’t your typical film school, but it gave me the space to sharpen my skills and get my foot in the industry. Over time, I found myself drawn to cinematography—learning how to shape light, compose frames, and craft visuals that resonate. I also took courses at the Georgia Film Academy, where I got hands-on experience with set construction, production workflows, and working on professional film sets.
For the past five years, I’ve been freelancing—directing music videos, working as a director of photography for short films, and helping local brands tell their stories in a way that elevates their identity. Every project, big or small, is a new opportunity to push creative boundaries and bring fresh ideas to life.
